India’s assistant coach, Ryan ten Doeschate, has confirmed that Pant is recovering well and could be fit for the second Test in Pune.
The Indian team is all set for the Pune Test, and assistant coach Ryan Doeschate spoke to the media ahead of the match. Addressing Pant’s fitness, Doeschate said, “Pant is looking much better and is likely to play in the Pune Test.” Pant scored 20 runs in the first innings of the Bangalore Test, and in the second innings, he fell just short of a century, finishing with 99 runs. His knock included 9 fours and 5 sixes.
Pant Begins Practice for the Pune Test
The Indian team has already arrived in Pune and Rishabh Pant resumed practice on Tuesday, hitting several powerful shots in the nets. Youngster Shubman Gill is also fully fit now. If Gill returns to the playing XI, the batting order could see a reshuffle, with him possibly batting at number three.
