Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has shared his disappointment with Tom Latham, as the New Zealand captain walked into the danger area of the pitch along with his partner Tom Blundell in the third session of Day 2 of the ongoing second Test at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune.The incident happened after Tom Latham hit Ravindra Jadeja for a boundary on the last ball of 37th over during New Zealand’s second innings.
Kohli expresses frustration as Latham crosses danger zone
Ravindra Jadeja delivered a good length ball, pitching it on a good length just outside off. The ball found the edge and raced between the Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and Rohit Sharma. Indian captain Rohit Sharma made a diving attempt to his right but couldn’t reach the ball as it quickly passed him.
Latham stepped forward but didn’t manage to cover the line properly while playing on the front foot. As a result, Tom Latham got a fine edge that Rohit couldn’t catch. However, Virat Kohli wasn’t happy with Latham and his partner Tom Blundell, as they walked in the danger area, according to the fielder. He was also seen having a heated exchange with the umpire.
Actually, just after Rohit missed the chance at the first slip, Tom Latham was walking near the danger zone of the pitch to speak to the non-striker. After watching this, Virat Kohli immediately reported it to the umpire. He was seen talking to the umpire while pointing at the New Zealand skipper.
As the Indian cricket team will have to bat last on this strip and Virat Kohli does not want the pitch to get any worse, he took the matter in his hands to warn the Kiwi batters. He had some heated exchange with the umpires, and now the clip is going viral across the social media platforms.

Washington Sundar dismisses Tom Latham in Pune
Meanwhile, Washington Sundar, the Indian spinner, finally managed to dismiss Latham. Sundar bowled a full delivery, and the New Zealand captain played a sweep shot but missed, and he was given LBW out.
Despite the delivery being too full for a sweep shot and striking his back leg, Latham decided to challenge the decision. The review showed the impact was just outside off stump. There’s a spike on UltraEdge, but it was simply from the bat hitting the ground.
There was a clear gap between the bat and the ball. Ultimately, the impact is ruled as the umpire’s call on off stump, and Latham had to leave the field for 86 runs off 133 balls, hitting 10 fours against India.
